Summary/Objective:
The Technical Ingredient Sales Manager is a key sales prospecting and business development focused on industrial ingredients and custom seasonings. The primary responsibility will be identifying and prospecting new business opportunities, driving growth within these sectors. The Technical Sales Manager will work closely with the sales team, R&D, and Operations to support the development of tailored solutions for prospective clients. The Technical Sales Manager will collaborate with different departments to optimize sales strategies and expand the customer base.
Essential Functions: The Technical Ingredient Sales Manager will focus on prospecting new business opportunities for industrial ingredients and custom seasoning by identifying potential leads, researching market trends, and reaching out to prospective clients. The Technical Sales Manager will also track progress through the sales pipeline, maintain accurate customer records, and follow-up on leads to ensure conversion into long-term business. Additionally, the Technical Sales Manager will gather market intelligence, analyzing customer feedback, and collaborating on product development initiatives to stay competitive and drive sales growth.
Responsibilities/Skills/Abilities:
- Utilizes independent judgment to conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitors, using insights to inform sales strategies.
- Has authority to make decisions on identifying and reaching out to potential clients in the industrial ingredients and custom seasonings markets.
- Prospecting the market for potential accounts
- Promoting product lines to prospective accounts through sales calls, cold calls, and trade interactions
- Maintain relationship with a set of on boarded and existing clients
- Recording activities into the CRM record
- Report appropriate needs, problems, interest, knowledge of value into the organization
- Maintain a strong knowledge of ingredients and seasoning categories

Work Experience Requirements:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- 5+ years in seasonings or food ingredient sales
- Knowledge of R&D cycle for food items
Education/Knowledge Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED/Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial ingredients, food manufacturing, or custom seasonings is an advantage.
- Familiarity with sales methodologies and B2B sales processes
Reports To: Vice President of Business Development
Supervisory responsibilities: None
Backup: Sales Support Representative
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing office-based tasks.
- Occasional lifting of office supplies, documents, or packages up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment, such as computers, printers, and phones.
- Ability to move between departments within the office and warehouse areas when necessary.
- Occasional travel may be required for meetings or site visits, depending on the role’s needs.
Work environment/Hours:
- Typically, office-based, with opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced,dynamic setting. The office is equipped with modern office tools and technology, including computers,phones, and software systems used for data entry, communication, and report generation.
- Full-time Office hours are typically 8:30-5:00pm, Monday-Friday with occasional overtime.
