Leadership Team

Peter Schaffer


In 1997, Peter embarked on his entrepreneurial journey by establishing The Food Source International, a venture he has led as President and CEO for the past 26 years. Before diving into the food industry, Peter devoted his early career to high-performance marine coatings, where he played a pivotal role in expanding foreign markets in countries like South Korea, China, Italy, Taiwan, and Australia. Having traversed the globe, Peter transitioned his expertise to the realm of dry dairy commodities and distribution, marking a dynamic shift in his professional trajectory. Peter’s multifaceted journey underscores his adaptability and visionary leadership in navigating diverse industries, making him a driving force behind the success of The Food Source International.


Zachary Heskett

VP of Operations

Zach joined The Food Source International in 2008. After starting out in logistics, Zach has brought his leadership and talents to all portions of the business including sales and operations. Zach’s background includes managing pet manufacturing, non-profit volunteering, and a recognized military veteran. His business management degree was earned at Millersville University.


Beth Campbell

VP of Finance

Beth began her accounting career in public accounting where she earned her CPA, then moved on to work in various accounting positions at Arkema, Inc. before joining The Food Source International, Inc. in 2018 as Controller. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting from West Chester University and also has a culinary background with a degree from The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College.


Denise Serafim

VP of Research & Development

Denise joined The Food Source International in 2010, starting the seasoning division for the company. She is regarded as one of the top seasoning scientists in the field, with a broad ingredient background. Denise is a certified flavor chemist and received a biology degree from the University of Pennsylvania.


Kevin McDermott

VP of Business Development

Kevin joined The Food Source International in 2019, with executive experience in the flavor industry. His background includes R&D, product management, and flavor operations. Kevin was an active board member for TAB Central NJ. He earned his degree in Marketing & Economics from Messiah College.
